Tom Coleman Named New CUEMA President

California Utilities Executive Management Association has named CUEMA Director Tom Coleman as the new President for the association. In addition to his role at CUEMA, Coleman is also currently serving as the General Manager of Rowland Water District.

Tom Coleman Head ShotMr. Tom Coleman was appointed General Manager of Rowland Water District in December 2014 after serving as the District’s Assistant General Manager.  He reports directly to the Board of Directors and provides leadership and direction to the team of 26 hard-working professionals.  Mr. Coleman is responsible for the decision-making and management that allows the District to fulfill its mission of delivering high-quality, reliable water to 62,000 people every day.  Setting an example in his field, Mr. Coleman is personally committed to building Rowland Water District’s position as a best in class organization and maintaining its impact as a leader in the region.

Mr. Coleman’s career in the water industry spans more than 24 years having served in leadership roles for several water agencies in the region including Bellflower-Somerset Mutual Water Company for two years and Orchard Dale Water District in Whittier for six years.  While at Orchard Dale Water District, he founded and chaired the “Central Basin Small Water Producers Group”, established to protect the groundwater interests of smaller groundwater rights holders/producers.  Before becoming a manager in the water industry, Mr. Coleman held a variety of water management positions with the City of Alhambra and Park Water Company in Downey.

Mr. Coleman has earned certifications in multiple areas including treatment, delivery, resource management and leadership. He holds a State of California Grade V Water Distribution Certificate and a Grade III Water Treatment Certificate. Mr. Coleman resides in Norco with his seven children and his wife of more than 24 years.

In addition to naming a new president, CUEMA has named Piret Harmon, General Manager of Scotts Valley Water District, Vice President of the association.
